Ideas to Raise Awareness for Breast Cancer

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM). Major breast cancer charities organize this campaign to increase awareness and raise funds for researching a cure.

A lot of us know someone who has breast cancer or is affected by it in some way. If you’d like to get involved we’d love to help. To help you get started we have provided some turnkey ideas for you to take action in a low-cost and effective way to raise awareness and funds to support the cause.

First, if you are planning to attend any events or do any sponsorships in the upcoming months consider cobranding giveaway items. For example, if you are handing out coolies at an upcoming concert, imprint on one with your logo and the other side with pink ribbon. You were going to give away something anyway, now it has added meaning!

Also, you could do an apparel fundraiser and donate the proceeds to the cause. This is as easy as getting a shirt design together that promotes breast cancer awareness and tag it with your brand. Then you can sell them to raise funds. You get exposure and you raise awareness for a great cause – win, win!

In addition, you could execute a social media contest that would help to raise awareness. Simply post trivia questions on social media during the month of October and hand out promotional items to those who get the answers right. You could also send out items to people who send you a snapshot of a donation they pledged.
