4 Ways to Stay in Front of Your Customers

4 Ways to Stay in Front of Your Customers When Meeting Face to Face isn’t an option

By nature businesses strive to stay top of mind with customers. It is our goal to be present and relevant when customers and prospects are ready to buy. We don’t want them to go astray. But, as the world we know evolves and more and more folks are working from home or maintain limited hours in the office, it has become quite a challenging to stay in constant contact. Here are 4 ways you can stay in front of your customers to keep your brand top of mind.

  1. Send a Handwritten Postcard – Nothing replaces a face-to-face meeting, but a handwritten postcard is a pretty good attempt. Take a break from digital means and get out the old pen and paper. Most customers will appreciate the time and effort of a handwritten note. Your note could thank a customer for their business, just touch base or offer a product suggestion or idea. It’s a great way to get attention while everyone else is flooding their email inbox.
  1. Connect and Engage Customers on Social Media – LinkedIn is probably the most common and appropriate social media channel for customer conection. But, there are many others like Alignable, Facebook social groups, Twitter ect. Regardless of the medium you choose, doing more than just connecting is important. While connecting alone will help keep you in the loop if someone changes positions or companies, it might not be enough to make you memorable. Engage with them. Comment on their posts from time to time. Share articles or posts that are relevant to them. Tag them when appropriate, message them with links to useful content. This will help you stay present and cross paths with them.
  1. Send Videos to Customers – A quick video message to thank a customer or show off a product is a great way to keep your face fresh in their minds. Just create a quick video on your phone. Or, you can step it up by looking at video tools that allow you to share and track engagement with your videos. It’s a thoughtful way to connect plus, it’s not so weird anymore for most people to record themselves since we are all used to seeing our mugs on Zoom or Teams for virtual meetings.
  1. Give Branded Gifts – Drop off or ship branded gifts with your company logo on them to keep your brand fresh. Since you want to igve them something they will constantly look at, desktop items work great for this such as desk calendars, logoed coffee tumblers, custom coasters or notepads. Anything that a customer would put at their desk and use during the work day. Promotional products work!

Keeping your company and personal brand in front of your contacts will help to strengthen your relationship and increase brand recognition. Most of us know how hard it is to get new business. So, once you have it put in some effort to retaining it!
